Lower School (Elementary) Teacher

Good Shepherd Episcopal School is seeking a teacher to assume responsibility in the 2018-2019 school year for a self-contained classroom in the lower grades.  As a growing school, we currently have multi-age classrooms, but we look forward to outgrowing that necessity in the near future – and we seek the energetic professionals who will be part of that growth.

The ideal candidate is one who can teach the elementary subjects with confidence.  Strengths in math and curriculum development are especially attractive to us.

A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in elementary education.  Teaching experience is a plus.

Part Time Positions

Although the positions below are part-time, there is a possibility of combining two or more needs into a more substantial position.

Music Teacher –

We are seeking a music teacher to assume responsibility in the 2018-2019 school year for a program that emphasizes traditional music, singing, and string instruments.  The signature element of the music program is the string ensemble, composed of violins and cellos, which occasionally performs off campus, sometimes in conjunction with a student chorus.  For the right teacher, the precise direction of the music program can evolve.

Art Teacher –

We are seeking a visual arts teacher to begin in the 2018-2019 school year.  We currently emphasize drawing, but the direction of the program can evolve under the direction of a creative teacher.

Foreign Language Teacher –

We have offered Spanish in the past, but, for the right teacher, we are willing to consider other classical or modern languages.

Successful completion of reference checks and fingerprinting/background check are required before employment begins.  A complete position description will be provided to applicants.

To apply, please send a cover letter and resume to summers.goodshepherd@gmail.com.
